Chief Executive John Mulholland gave a breakdown of the latest figures, highlighting the fact that the Council have delivered 160 social homes so far in 2023.
These include 108 in Portlaoise and 52 in Portarlington.
A further 236 homes are under construction, including a project in St Kieran’s Park, Errill.
Cllr John King spoke proudly about the project, which includes six two-bedroom houses and eight three-bedroom houses.
The Fine Gael Cllr also beamed about the 13 social homes expected in the second quarter of 2024, which will include seven houses in Moorville and six on Moore Street.
Cllr James Kelly also praised the work done elsewhere in the county, particularly in Mountrath and Borris-in-Ossory.
The Independent Cllr praised plans for further social housing projects due for 2024, particularly those in Mountmellick, Durrow, and Mountrath.
Cllr Kelly also commended the Council for building private homes, as well as the regeneration packages announced for vacant homes.
