Michael Byrne late of “The Forge”, Ballickmoyler and Brighton, England, passed away peacefully, on October 21st, 2023 at Royal Sussex Co. Hospital.

Predeceased by his parents Michael and Kathy, sister Annie, brother Noel, Danny and Frank.

Beloved father of Rita (Brighton), Michael (Australia), Tony (Carlow), adored grandfather of Jessica, Dean, Vera, Charlie, Mikela, Toni-Ann and James, cherished brother of Peter and Noeleen and much loved father-in-law of Karen.

He will be sadly missed by his loving children, grandchildren, his 3 great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law, brother, sister, brother-in-law Pat, his exceptional friends Mikie, Gary, Stella and Joan, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Gerard Doyle
Rathmoyle Rd., Abbeyleix, Laois / Lusk, Dublin

The death has occurred of Gerard Doyle, late of Rathmoyle, Abbeyleix, Co. Laois and formerly of Walshestown, Lusk, Co. Dublin and Tolka Estate, Dublin 11, (peacefully) in St. Frances Hospice, Blanchardstown.  Predeceased by his wife Julie and his sister Nell.  Gerard will be sadly missed by his sons Gerard and Colin, his daughter Lorna, grandchildren Sophie, Sarah and Saoirse, brother Patrick, daughter-in-law Stephanie, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Reposing at McNally’s Funeral Home, Balbriggan on Friday from 6pm to 8pm.

Removal on Saturday morning to Church of the Assumption, Ballyboughal, at 10.30am, followed by cremation at Dardistown Crematorium at 12.30pm.

Family flowers only with donations, in lieu, to St. Frances Hospice.

James (Jimmy) King
31 St Fiacc’s Terrace, Graiguecullen, Carlow / Graiguecullen, Laois

James (Jimmy) King (former Sugar Factory Employee) of 31 St Fiacc’s Terrace, Graiguecullen, Carlow, passed away suddenly, on October 24th, 2023, at his home.

Cherished brother of Paddy, Joe, Ger, Mary and the late Maurice and much loved son of the late James and Elizabeth.

He will be sadly missed by his loving brothers, sister, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Graiguecullen on Friday from 3pm, concluding with Prayers at 6.45pm that evening. Removal from there on Saturday at 10.15am to St. Clare’s Church, Graiguecullen, arriving for Funeral Mass at 10.30am. Burial afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Carlow.

Susan Murphy (née Gillson)
Barnbawn Road, Glenealy, Wicklow / Mountmellick, Laois

Barnbawn Road, Glenealy, Co. Wicklow & formerly Derrygile, Mountmellick, Co. Laois. 15th January 1957 – 20th October 2023.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected, peaceful passing of Susan at her home in Glenealy.

Beloved wife of Garret and cherished mother to Andrew and Kieran , sadly missed by her husband, sons Andrew his wife Sonia and Kieran and his fiancée Lou and loving sister to Tim. Susan will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.

Susan was a delightful and positive presence in the lives of all who had the honour to know her. She set an inspiring example as a wife, mother, and friend and her memory will be dearly cherished.

Susan will be reposing at McCrea’s Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Wicklow Town (A67E003) Monday evening from 5.00pm to 8.00pm and on Tuesday morning 31st October from 10.00am with removal at 11.30am to McCrea’s Cremation Chapel in the adjoining building for a funeral service to celebrate Susan’s life for all those who wish to attend.

Joanna Klubikowska, Higgins Park, Fairgreen, Portlaoise, died 19th October 2023, unexpectedly, surrounded by her loving family. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Kristof, daughter Ola, son Rafal his partner Andrea and their son Darby, grandsons Szymon and Victor, extended family in Poland, relatives, friends and work colleagues at Lily O’Brien’s, Newbridge.

Reposing at Keegan’s Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6.30pm until 8pm. Rosary will be recited at 7.30pm. Requiem Mass will take place on Saturday, October 28th, at 12 noon in SS Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise. Cremation to follow in Newlands Cross Crematorium at 2pm.

Carmel McEnery (née O`Connell)
cloncullane, Ballyroan, Laois / Abbeyfeale, Limerick

Carmel McEnery (Nee O’Connell). Late of Cloncullane, Ballyroan and formerly of Bridge St. Abbeyfeale. Passed away peacefully in the loving care of her family at her home on Oct 25th In her 88th year.

Pre-deceased by late Husband Joseph, Sisters Mary & Ita, Brothers Jack & John-Joe, and Granddaughter Claire (Taylor).

Dearly loved mother to Mary (Murphy), Denis, Ita (Taylor), Carmel-Ann, Kay (Coughlan), Michael & Tomás. Cherished grandmother to Diarmuid, Conail, Joanne, Sean Óg, Alison, Cian, Katie, Nessa, Tommy, Rachel, Dylan, Carmel, Jack, Seán-Luke, Tiernan, Fionn, Tomás & Ryan. And her Great-Grandsons Caolen & Jordan. Deeply regretted by her Daughters-in-law Veronica & Donna, Sons-in-law Seán, John & Paul. Sisters-in-law Regina (Brazil) & Marie (Dromin). Keyes, Sr Canice (Mary), St John of God, Wexford and formerly of Errill, Rathdowney, Co Laois, peacefully on the 25th October 2023 in the exceptional care of the staff of Sallyville House, St John of God, Wexford.

Predeceased by her parents Joe and Sarah, her brothers Joe, Paul, Matt, John and Billy.

Sr Canice will be dearly missed by her sisters in law, her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, relatives, many friends and all staff and Sisters of St. John of God.

Reposing at Sallyville House Chapel on Thursday 26th October from 2pm with evening prayer at 6pm. Funeral Mass at 10.30am in Sallyville House Chapel Friday the 27th October, followed by burial in Foulkstown Cemetery, Waterford Road, Kilkenny arriving approximately 1.30pm.

Colette Callinan (née Foley) of Monread Heights, Naas, Co. Kildare, formerly of Pacelli Avenue, Graiguecullen, Carlow, passed away peacefully in St James Hospital, Dublin, on Saturday 21st October.

Beloved wife of Frank, devoted Mother of Tara and Sarah, proud Grandmother to Éabha and Frankie.

She will be deeply mourned by her husband, daughters, grandchildren, sister Betty, brother Pat, sons-in-law Paul and Darragh, aunts, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, neighbours, and her many friends.

Des Carroll, Beladd, Portlaoise and late of New Ross, 23rd Oct 2023. Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Margaret and dearly loved father to Gwen (Perth, Western Australia), Yvonne (Glasnevin), Deirdre (Kulin, Western Australia) and Tracey (Birr). Cherished grandad to Cillian, Orla, Nora, Niamh, Aoife, James and Tadhg. Des will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by his loving brothers Vincent, Jack, Pat, Ray and Bob, sons in law Tom, Craig and Niall. Deeply regretted by his brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, former colleagues in An Garda Síochána, friends in The Community Games, relatives and neighbours.

Reposing at home on Thursday from 4pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Friday to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise, for 12 noon requiem Mass. Interment afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise
