Dolores Lawlor (nee Blanc) St.Joseph’s Terrace Mountmellick died October 6th 2023 peacefully at the regional hospital Tullamore surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents Richard and Eileen and her dear brothers Jim and Joe. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Michael, son Fergal, daughters Jeanette and Helen, grandchildren Ethan and his partner Chloé, Corey, Roisin, Sinead, Saoirse and Leon, sons-in-law Paul and Damien, brother Sam, sisters Clare (Mangan) Carn Emo, Geraldine Carroll (Emmet Street) nieces, nephews, grandnephews and grandnieces, brothers and sisters-in-law, neighbours, relatives and her many friends.
Reposing in her home on Saturday from 6pm with recital of the rosary at 8pm. Reposing on Sunday from 5pm recital of the rosary at 8pm. Removal on Monday at 1.30pm to St. Joseph’s Church Mountmellick, for Requiem Mass at 2pm. Burial after in St Joseph’s Cemetery. Family time in her home on Monday.

Alan McEvoy, Buttercup Avenue, Esker Hills, Portlaoise, Oct 7th 2023, peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. Dearly loved partner to Molly and loving father to Calvin. Predeceased by his father Alo and mother Mary and brothers Jimmy and Gerard and nephew Daryl. Loving brother to Peter and Sean, Eileen, Tina, Imelda, Mary, Linda, Angela and Majella. Deeply regretted by his loving family, mother in law Mary M (Ma), brothers in law, sisters in law, nephew, nieces, relatives and friends.
Reposing at Keegan’s Funeral Home on Monday from 6pm with rosary at 7.30pm. Removal on Tuesday to SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 12 noon requiem Mass. Interment afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to charity.
Georgina Mary Mitchell
Quarrymount, Errill, Laois
Georgina Mary Mitchell, Quarrymount, Errill, Co. Laois, October 3rd. 2023 peacefully at Midland’s Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Predeceased by her parents Bob and Georgina, sisters Muriel and Dorothy and brothers Albert and Robin.
Sadly missed by her loving brothers Tommy, Charlie and Gerald, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews extended family, neighbours, her dedicated care team and a wide circle of friends.
Reposing at O’Sullivan’s Funeral Home Rathdowney on Monday evening from 6 o’clock until 8 o’clock. Removal on Tuesday afternoon to Castlefleming Church Errill arriving for funeral service at 2 pm. Interment afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.
Gerard (Gerry) McDonald
Drumcondra, Dublin / Lower Rossmore, Carlow / Laois
Gerard (Gerry) McDonald of Drumcondra, Dublin 9 and formerly of Lower Rossmore, Carlow, passed away unexpectedly, on September 26th, 2023.
Beloved son of the late Paddy and Anne McDonald and cherished brother of Breda Cotter (Ashbourne), John, Mary (May) (Dublin), Tom, Bernadine Mulhall (Arles), Lucia (Dublin), Paddy, Claire Gilroy (Dublin) and the late Anne Sheehan (Kerry).
He will be sadly missed by his loving brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunt Sheila, nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, relatives and friends.

Martin McHugh Silverglen, Mountmellick, County Laois and formerly of Dublin. Passed away on 5th October 2023 peacefully.
Our family would like to announce the devastating loss of Martin McHugh. Eternally loved and sorely missed. Martin will be deeply regretted by his loving wife Jane, children Fiona, Martin, Brian and Sinéad, sons-in-law Andrew and Patrick, daughter-in-law Clodagh, sister-in-law Rosaleen, grandchildren Ailísh, Connor, Arwen, Aislinn, Cayla, Shona, Nathan, Evan, Ember Rose and Michael, great-grandchildren Caoimhe and Darragh, brothers, sisters, extended family, neighbours and many friends.
Reposing at his residence (eircode R32 D300) on Sunday afternoon from 3pm until 6pm. Removal on Monday at 12:45pm arriving Newlands Cross Crematorium for a celebration of Martin’s life at 2:30pm.

Joseph better known as Joe Smyth, 58 Kirwan Park, Mountmellick, Co. Laois & formally of Glasshouse, Shinrone, Co. Offaly. Passed away unexpectedly at home on the 4th of October 2023. Predeceased by his loving wife Kathleen, his parents John and Lily. Deeply regretted by his heart broken children Elaine and John, his Best friend and Carer Peg, grandchildren Isabella, Lily, Freddie, Kayci, Harry, Tori and Molly, his sister Mary, his brothers Willie and Paddy, brother-in-law Pat, sisters-in-law Evelyn and Catherine, son-in-law Roger Foot, daughter-in-law Louise Kearns, (Acragar, Mountmellick), extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.
