Mountrath Tidy Towns and the Mountrath Town Team have been have been busy creating a landscape plan to help revitalise and improve the town.
The organisations have been working closely with Tim Austin, from Austin Associates, and Brian Gaynor, from Green Pine Consultants.
The landscape plan will provide a road map for landscaping improvements to the town, which will benefit the local community and future visitors alike.
Town Regeneration Officer, Denise Rainey, and Sports and Leisure Officer, Ann Marie Maher, along with Lillian Ashe, Margaret Moore, and Paul Phelan from Mountrath Tidy Towns, and Liam O’Neill from Mountrath Town Team have worked towards advancing the plan.
The project is being carried out with funding allocated by the Department of Rural and Community Development under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme.
The Mountrath Town Team Chaired by local businessman Mark Sheeran, has committed to revitalising the Town Centre.
The committee, comprised of representatives from all the local community groups, is focusing on projects which will promote the social and economic revival of Mountrath Town Centre.
The Landscape Plan is just one of many projects being carried out with more to be revealed later.
Mountrath Tidy Towns have worked steadily all year on various projects to help renew the town.
These include growing their own flowers for use throughout the town, a successful litter campaign, and implementing a painting scheme to give the town a timely face lift.
