Michael (Mickey) Connors
Fomerly The Green, Stradbally, Laois / Ballyragget, Kilkenny / Ballon, Carlow
Connors, Michael (Mickey) passed away peacefully at Brookhaven Nursing Home, Ballyragget, Co. Kilkenny on the 8th September 2023, formerly of The Green, Stradbally, Co. Laois. Pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Winnie. Deeply regretted by his much loved family, his fourteen children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and a large circle of friends.
Mickey will repose at The Presentation Chapel, Stradbally from 3pm to 6pm on Monday, 11th September. Requiem Mass on Tuesday in the Sacred Heart Church, Stradbally at 11:30am followed by interment in Ballon Cemetery, Carlow.
The Family would like to thank the Matron and Staff in Brookhaven Nursing Home for the wonderful care they gave Mickey.
Bridie Hyland (née Minnock)
The Sawmills, Ballybrittas, Laois / Durrow, Offaly
Formerly of Durrow County Offaly. Peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff of Oakdale Nursing Home Portarlington. Loving wife of the late Jim and dear mother of the late Attracta. Deeply regretted by her loving daughters Deirdre, Finnuala, Anita and Thelma, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at her daughter Deirdre and son-in-law Michael Hyland’s residence, Coolaghy, Woodbrook, Portarlington (eircode R32 K0F6) on Sunday afternoon from 2pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Monday morning at 11am (travelling via Ballybrittas) arriving St Paul’s Church, Emo for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Funeral afterwards to The New Cemetery, Emo.

Gene Byrne
Clondoogan, Summerhill, Meath / Mountmellick, Laois
Formerly Mountmellick, Co.Laois, Peacefully after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family and in the loving care of the nurses and staff of St. Joseph’s C.N.U. Trim.
Gene, will be sadly missed by his devoted wife Valerie (nee Bryan), his children and their spouses; Genette & Paul McGuinness, Naomi & Stephen Kendal, Olwyn & John Forde and Bryan & Anita Byrne, his adored grandchildren, his siblings; Declan and Marian, brothers in law; Bernard, Theo and Billy, sisters in law; Daphne and Marguerite, cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends.
Predeceased by his parents Owenie and Mona, his sister Ann and nephew Adrian.
Reposing at William Ryan & Sons Funeral Home, Church St., Kilcock (W23 XC90) on Saturday from 5pm-7pm. Funeral Mass at 1.30pm on Sunday in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Dangan, Summerhill followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
Sr Elizabeth (Pacelli) Starken
Mountmellick, Laois
Starken, Sr Elizabeth (Pacelli) Presentation Sisters, Mountmellick, Co Laois – September 8th, 2023, peacefully at Clondalkin Lodge Nursing Home. Predeceased by her parents Henry and Elizabeth her sister Marie Noone and brothers Hal, Frank and Gabriel. Deeply regretted by her brothers Pat and Fr Brian C.S.Sp, her sisters-in-law Nora and Pauline, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews great-grand-nephew, extended family and her Presentation Sisters, past pupils and many friends.
Reposing at Presentation Convent, Mountmellick on Sunday from 3.30 to 6pm. Followed by removal to St Joseph’s Parish Church for evening prayer at 6.30pm. Requiem Mass Monday at 11am followed by burial in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Acragar.
