Andrew Morrissey

Andrew Morrissey, Chantiere Gate, Portlaoise and late of Monkstown Farm and Woodfarm Acres, Palmerstown and Knockanina, Mountrath. Died peacefully on 04 September 2023 surrounded by his family at Kilminchy Lodge Nursing Home. Father of the late Mark and beloved husband of Maeve and deeply missed by his son Andrew and daughters Lisa and Lorna. Grandfather to Serena, Devona, Andrew, Mark, Aaron, James, Sean, Jacob, Kevin, Ciaran, Aidan and Lucy. Deeply regretted by his loving family, brothers Phil and Martin, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at his family home from 6pm on Wednesday evening with rosary at 8pm. Removal on Thursday to St Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise for 2pm Mass. Cremation will follow on Friday at 11.30 am in Newslands Cross.

Anne Vaugh (née Delaney)
Tinweir, Durrow, Laois

Peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family after a long illness borne with faith and courage. Predeceased by her father and mother Mick and May. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Sam, daughters Samantha and Aisling, son in law John Joe and Aisling`s fiancé Justin, cherished grandmother of Conor, Óran and Darragh, brothers Jim and Dick and sister Stella Doyle (Wicklow), brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, cousins, a large circle of friends and the wider community of Durrow.

Reposing at Durrow Funeral Home, Chapel Street, Durrow, Co. Laois (R32 E163) on Wednesday, 6th September 2023, from 4pm with Rosary recital at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday, 7th September 2023, at 11am in the Church of the Holy Trinity, Durrow, Co. Laois with burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The family would also like to sincerely thank Laois Palliative Care, Cuisle Cancer Support Centre and all the carers from Comfort Homecare for the care and the kindness shown to Anne throughout her illness.

Predeceased by his parents, brother and sister. Beloved husband of Sadie (Sarah), with whom he shared 61 wonderful years of marriage. Much loved father and deeply regretted by his son John (Jnr). Sadly missed by his daughter in law Esme, granddaughters Emma and Amy, brother in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

Requiem mass on Wednesday, 6th September, at 11am in St. Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise. Thereafter to Newlands Cross Crematorium for 2pm.

Imelda Doyle (née Carey)
Ballickmoyler, Carlow / Carlow Town, Carlow / Ballickmoyler, Laois

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on September 4th, 2023, at The District Hospital, Carlow.

Beloved wife of Pat, much loved mother of Lisa, Jimmy, Ellen, Patrick and Lorraine and cherished sister of Betty, Oliver, Billy, Teresa, Anne, Ellen, Kathleen, Mary Clare, Brigid, Madeleine, Frances, Peter, John, Mark and Edel.

She will be missed by her loving husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons-in-law Paul, Neil and Paul, daughters-in-law Elaine and Sue, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Carpenter Brothers Funeral Home, Barrack St., on Tuesday, September 5th, from 3pm, concluding with Prayers at 8.30pm

Removal on Wednesday at 10.30am to St Mary’s Church, Bennekerry, Carlow, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Carlow.

William (Billy) Ring
Celbridge, Kildare / Abbeyleix, Laois

Ring (Celbridge, Co. Kildare and formerly of Norris’s Pub and Abbeyleix, Co. Laois) – Sept 2, 2023, (peacefully), after a short illness, at Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, William (Billy); Sadly missed by the Norris and Ring families and his loving nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing on Wednesday from 4pm to 7pm at the Ramon Massey & Son Funeral Home, Thornhill, Maynooth Road, Celbridge W23 D1K5, (beside McMahon’s Pub). Removal on Thursday to St. Partick’s Church, Celbridge arriving for 10am Mass. Funeral immediately afterwards to Abbeyleix Cemetery adjoining the Church of the Most Holy Rosary arriving at approximately 12.30pm. Family flowers only please. Formerly of Southknock, New Ross, and Marian Avenue, Portlaoise.

Claire, passed away peacefully in Wexford General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents Peg and Tom Smith, her brother Malcolm and John Delaney. Sadly missed by her loving sons and daughters Jackie, Niall, Gina, Paul and Christina, grandchildren Christopher, Megan, Ethan and Liam, brothers and sisters Peter, Ann, George, Declan, David, Caroline, Niall and Edel, son-in-law Michael, brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Cooney’s Funeral Home, New Ross, on Tuesday from 4pm concluding at 7pm and Reposing at Keegan’s Funeral Home, Portlaoise, on Wednesday, September 6th, from 5.30pm concluding at 7pm for extended family and close friends.

Removal on Thursday, September 7th, to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise for requiem mass at 12noon, followed by burial afterwards in  SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Br. Daniel Patrick Carlin, De La Salle Brothers, Saint Joseph School, Addis Ababa, (suddenly). Predeceased by his parents Freddie and Mary. Deeply regretted by his brother Laurence, niece Siobhan, and cousins in Derry, London and Longford, parents, teachers and pupils St. Joseph School and especially by his confreres in Ethiopia, District of Lwanga Africa and the District of Ireland, Great Britain and Malta.

Funeral Mass on Wednesday September 6th 2023 at 2.00pm in the De La Salle Pastoral Centre, Castletown, Portlaoise, Co. Laois. Burial immediately afterwards in the Monastery Cemetery. EirCode R32 NX40.
