The Script have become the latest act to be added to the Electric Picnic line up ahead of next weeks festival.
The Irish rock band formed in 2001 in Dublin and are led by vocalist, keyboardist and guitarist Danny O’Donoghue.
Tweeting the news this afternoon, Electric Picnic said: “We’re beyond excited to welcome The Script to the Electric Picnic ‘Hall of Fame’.”
While The Script said: “IRELAND! We are playing Electric Picnic festival! Beyond excited to perform back home again.”
They will join an already stacked line up which now also includes Paolo Nutini who replaced Lewis Capaldi.
The Killers, Billie Eilish, Niall Horan, Lewis Capaldi, Jamie XX, Rick Astley, Tom Odell, Fred Again are some of the acts that have been announced for Electric Picnic.
As well as those announced above – Steve Lacy, IDLES and Amyl & The Sniffers have also been included.
Last year, after a two year Covid absence, the festival returned to Stradbally and welcomed 70,000 music fans hungry to experience Ireland’s biggest music and arts festival.
Picnickers enjoyed a redesigned site layout, brand new areas such as The Theatre, Fishtown and of course all the festival favourites like Mindfield, Salty Dog and Trailer Park.
Tickets for Electric Picnic are completely sold out. The festival this year will take place from September 1 to 3.
