Ballyfin GAA are holding their fourth annual Golf Classic, this Friday, August 25.
The Liam Linden Memorial Tournament is a champagne golf classic, taking place in the wonderful setting of Mountrath Golf Club.
Over 120 golfers competed in four person teams for the title last year.
The tournament is in the memory of the late Liam Linden, a well-known business man in Laois who left a deep imprint in business, GAA, golf, and charity circles.
Liam was heavily involved in Ballyfin GAA, managing them in 2010 to the Junior Football Championship crown
Liam also captained the Heritage Golf Club in 2008 and was heavily invovled in donating to different charities throughout his lifetime.
Tee times for the tournament are from 7:30am to 4:30pm. Entry fee is €120 for each team of four.
First Prize is four new golf bags and four green fees from the Heritage Golf Course, Killenard. Call 087 251 7609.
There will also be a raffle to win two weekend tickets to the sold-out Electric Picnic.
Raffle tickets are €5 each and will be on sale Thursday in SuperValue, Mountmellick, and Friday in Mighty Mols, Mountrath.
