Electric Picnic is set to take place two weeks earlier than its normal date in 2024, according to a social media post published by the organisers this morning.
Electric Picnic have posted on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook that next year’s festival will take place from August 16-18 and that Loyalty Early Bird tickets are on sale now.
The new date will mark a significant change for the festival, on what will be the 20th anniversary of it first being hosted in Stradbally.
The change of dates will bring it away from its traditional ‘Back to School’ weekend and earlier into the summer.
“Tickets for Electric Picnic 2024 go on sale at 9am today 23rd August as part of the Electric Picnic Loyalty Scheme – so the first coveted tickets for next year’s festival are available to those who pre-registered for the loyalty scheme through Ticketmaster and were eligible to receive loyalty codes this morning 23rd August,” said a statement from Electric Picnic.
“A second round of tickets will go on sale as part of the Early Bird offering after Electric Picnic 2023 on 8th – 30th September with both General Admission and Loyalty Scheme tickets.
“There will be a final release of tickets on sale from 1st October.
“And as we prepare to celebrate 20 years of the festival in 2024, Electric Picnic announces Ireland’s leading music and arts festival will take place on 16th – 18th August 2024.
“The Electric Picnic Loyalty Scheme was available to those who registered and were eligible to receive a code by 12pm Monday 21st August 2023.”
This year’s festival takes place from September 1-3 where Billie Eilish, Fred again, The Killers, Niall Horan and Paulo Nutini are among the headline acts.
