Laois man running Ultra Marathon to raise funds for his late friend and teammate

Jamie Malone Paddy Branagan Marathon

Jamie Malone from Graiguecullen is running the Longford Ultra Marathon in memory of his friend, Paddy Branagan.

Paddy, also from Graiguecullen, died unexpectedly in the United States in May of last year.

A proud GAA man, Paddy was part of the 2010 minor and U-21 winning Graigue teams.

His friend and former teammate, Jamie, will be attempting his longest ever run – the 63km Longford Ultra.

Jamie is running to raise funds for the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, a cause that has brought so much support to bereaved families across the island of Ireland.

The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust aims to support bereaved families repatriating the bodies of loved ones back to Ireland who have died abroad in sudden or tragic circumstances.

Jamie has previously undertaken a massive physical challenge to raise funds for a great cause, running 500km in the month of January (2021) in aid of St Fiacc’s House Nursing Home in Graiguecullen.

You can donate to the cause here, which has already raised over €6,000.
