Predeceased by his parents Jimmy and Kathleen, brother Larry, brother-in-law Pat White and sister-in-law Mary Ann. Deeply regretted by his brothers Dan and Jim, sister Lil, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and the best of neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Rigney’s Funeral Home, Athy, on Sunday evening (July 30th) from 6pm until the conclusion of the Rosary at 8pm. Reposing on Monday afternoon from 4pm with Rosary at 6.30pm. Removal at 7pm on Monday evening to arrive at The Church of the Holy Rosary, Luggacurren for evening prayers at 7.30pm. Requiem Mass at 11am on Tuesday morning followed by burial in Clopook Cemetery.
Donal Breen
Portlaoise, Laois/Timahoe, Laois/Mallow, Cork
Donal Breen. Oaklawn Portlaoise and formerly Timahoe and Knocknagree Mallow Co.Cork. Died 29th July. Peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
Predeceased by his brother Sonny and sister Hannah. Sadly mourned by his devoted wife Kay, his loving children Patrick, John, William, Donal, Elma and Anthony. His adored grandchildren Danielle, Killian, Tom and Hannah. Daughters in law Patricia and Elin, sons in law Wim and Fintan, sister in law Nellie, brother in law John, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Reposing at Keegan’s Funeral Home on Monday evening July 31st from 6:30pm with rosary recital at 8pm. Removal from his home on Tuesday to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 12 noon requiem mass. Interment will follow afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery.

Hannan Robert Ernest, Goatstown, Dublin and formerly Arklow, Co. Wicklow, July 28th. Peacefully, at home, in his 96th year. Dearly loved husband of Mary (nee Handcock). Formerly Coolrain, Co. Laois. Cherished uncle and great uncle. Deeply regretted by his many relatives, extended family and friends.
Reposing at Keegan’s Funeral Home, Portlaoise, on Monday morning from 12 noon. Removal at 1.15 pm to arrive at St Jude’s Church, Anatrim Church, Coolrain, for 2 pm service. Interment will follow in Aghaboe Cemetery.

Conroy, John (Jack) – 27th July 2023, (Clonshaugh, Dublin and formerly of Clonaslee, Co. Laois), (peacefully), surrounded by his loving family and in the wonderful care of staff at Beaumont Hospital.
Beloved husband of Geraldine and loving father of Seibh, and stepdad of Ciara and Mark; very sadly missed by his family, grandchildren Alice, Abigail and Zoey, daughter-in-law Fiona, sister Maureen, sister-in-law Lillas, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Jonathan McCowen, Brisbane. Formerly Station Road, Portarlington, Co. Laois. It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Jonathan “Micko” McCowen, after a long illness, bravely battled. Beloved husband and soulmate of Sherie, and adoring dad of Darcy and Riley.
Predeceased by his parents, Jon and Marie McCowen. Johnny will be sadly missed every day by Sherie, Darcy and Riley, his sister Louise (Galway), his brothers Paul (Naas) and Mark (Poland), sisters-in-law Maureen and Ladda, niece, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and his wide circle of friends at home and abroad.
Jonathan’s funeral service will take place at Our Lady of Graces Catholic Church, Carina on Tuesday, 1st August, 2023, commencing at 11.00am followed by burial at Mt Gravatt Cemetery. The funeral service will be livestreamed.
