Trailer Park returns to the Electric Picnic with all the absurdity, lunacy and culture fans have come to love

The Electric Picnic, Ireland’s largest gathering of music and arts, returns to Stradbally this year, from Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd of September.

Eight years ago, Trailer Park joined the long list of attractions at the festival, and has become a serious fan-favourite ever since.

The quirky, easy-going nature of the area makes it the perfect environment for those with families, those looking for something a little different, and those who prefer to chill in the background.

It is a world away from the tens of thousands of fans gathered around the main stage, enjoying Billie Eilish or The Killers.

Trailer Park, described as “the place to go to unearth the soul of Electric Picnic,” is an ecclectic blend of visual creativity, laughter, live music, and more.

Anchored by the Trailer Park Stage, the area is a hive of small, interactive theatres, hosted in re-functioned vans, caravans and campers. Attractions include:

Yonder – A psychedelic bus, with such treasures as drag for beginners, hip-hip for over 60s, and crap yoga.

Ellebanna – An Ibiza-based dance intervention featuring creatures not-of-this-earth.

Crazy Train – A place to come for colour, with spray paint, rotating canvases and more to experiment with.

Fashion of Swap – A clothes exchange and repair clinic, where punters can modify their outfit or go for a full change.

The Dreaming Summer House – Mystery, mystique and music hosted by Mike and Geri of New Blue Sioux.

TG Ceathaire – A TV studio broadcasting game shows from a bashed-up old caravan.

Salvage Yard – A new piano bar where you can eat, drink and enjoy the full songbook of the resident pianist.

Other odities include Picnic Peaks, Caravan Mambo, Caravanaoke, Quizivan, Ceili Kitchen, My Lovely Horse Rescue and so much more.

There will, of course, be music from artists including: Tan and Sober Gentlemen, Negro Impacto, Clara Tracey, White Horse Guitar Club, Zaska, New Brass Kings, and many more.
