The highly anticipated Folly Festival is back, ready to captivate music enthusiasts and families alike in its intimate venue beneath the majestic Cullohill Castle ruins.
Taking place on July 7th and 8th, this year’s festival promises an unforgettable weekend filled with exceptional Irish music acts, vibrant performances, and a range of daytime events that will delight attendees of all ages.
On July 7th, the festival kicks off with an electrifying lineup including Chasing Abbey, Flynn, Isaac Butler, The Scobes, and the night’s headline act, Lyra.
The Cork native has established herself on both the domestic and international stage with a string of exciting, vibrant singles
accompanied by a unique style of visual presentation that is never less than stunning.
Continuing the festivities on July 8th, the lineup features another array of outstanding musicians – Robert Grace, Aimée, Bradley Marshall, Bayviin, and fresh from her sellout run at The Academy, Lea Heart will headline as the final live act of Folly 23.
To keep the energy alive throughout both nights, DJ S² will be closing with dynamic DJ sets.
But the excitement is not just limited to the night time live music performances. Stand-up comic Eve Darcy will also perform on Friday night.
Saturday offers a diverse range of Daytime Events that are perfect for families and festival-goers with entertainment for all age groups. From 10:00 am, Cullohill Mountain Walk provides an opportunity to explore the picturesque landscapes surrounding the festival venue.
The Great Folly Bake is back by popular demands, while
the Art Exhibition of Local Artists will showcase the creativity of the community. From midday, Nancy’s Yard will host a day of fun activities, games and entertainment for children, with an admission fee of just €5.
Additional activities include a Mindfulness Taster Workshop, Pilates with Idoia, African Drumming Workshops, a Cookery Demonstration, a Lip Balm Recipe and Scent Bank Development Demo, and much more.
The day will be filled with engaging workshops, vintage displays, and a vibrant Artisan Food and Craft Market, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
The ‘Stage On The Rocks’ will host a ‘Flavour of Irish Food’ Cookery Demonstration, and a host of music acts including Trad Óg, Cullohill National School Comhaltas Group, Vocem Darú Choir and the highly anticipated Drops of Green, who take to the stage at 3:30pm.
The best part is that you don’t need a concert ticket to attend the daytime events, so everyone is welcome to join in on the excitement.
