Laois GAA have announced the return of the Ó’Mórdha Óg football program for 2023, dedicated to fostering the growth and development of young athletes in the Laois GAA community.
The program kicks off on Tuesday, July 18, and is specifically designed for U-11 players.
Games Manager Shane Keegan, announcing the program this afternoon, encouraged players to get involved.
He will be working alongside Bryan Breen, a member of the Laois GAA executive, who will act as coordinator.
Keegan said: “We warmly invite all aspiring footballers born in 2012 to join us in these exciting sessions, which will be held every Tuesday throughout the summer.
“Our aim is to provide highly structured training that focuses on skill development and enjoyable game-based activities.
“It’s the perfect opportunity for players to enhance their abilities and make new friends in a safe and fun environment.
“It is intended that our coaching staff will consist of volunteer club coaches as well as some experienced inter-county players, both past and present, all operating off a detailed training plan which will be provided to them.
“With their expertise and guidance, young players in this age group will have the chance to thrive and improve their skills.
“This initiative can only work with the participation of the volunteer coaches. We are striving for full engagement with all clubs within Laois GAA in both submitting players and coaches.
“By participating in the Ó’Mórdha Óg program, coaches will gain valuable knowledge and experience, setting them on a path towards coaching success.
“We understand that attending every session might not always be possible due to various commitments, but we encourage players and coaches to join us as frequently as they can.
“Remember, the more you participate, the more you’ll benefit from this remarkable opportunity.”
To register as a coach, people are asked to fill out the forms link attached here and submit by 5pm Friday, July 7.
