Joey Bland
12 Oakglen, Stradbally, Laois
Joey passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Sadly missed by his heartbroken parents Andy and Sam, his sister Stacey, brother in law Bryan, nephew Matt, aunts, uncles, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Joey will repose at his residence (R32 CC79) on Friday from 2pm until recital of the Rosary at 8pm on Friday evening. Removal by Whelehan Funeral Directors on Saturday morning at 11.30 to arrive at the Sacred Heart Church Stradbally for 12 noon Requiem Mass. Interment to follow in Oakvale Cemetery.

Mary Dwyer (née Bryan)
Oakvale, Stradbally, Laois/Coon, Kilkenny
Mary Dwyer, née Bryan, Oakvale, Stradbally, Co. Laois formerly of Coon, Co. Kilkenny. Suddenly on the 12th June 2023. Deeply regretted by her husband Noel, daughters Tara and Ciara, son-in-law, David, sisters Jane and Joan, brother, Bobby, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Reposing at her home on Thursday with Recital of the Rosary at 7pm (Family Only). Removal from her home at 11:40am arriving for Requiem Mass on Friday in the Sacred Heart Church, Stradbally at 12 noon. Interment to follow in Oakvale Cemetery, Stradbally.
Deirdre O’Connor
Castleknock, Dublin/Laois
The death has occurred of Deirdre O’Connor, Castleknock and Ballinteer, Dublin. Passed peacefully, on 12th June 2023, surrounded by her family, in ICU in James Connolly Memorial Hospital, following a short illness.
Predeceased by her father Billy O’Connor (Emo village) and her mother Ann O’Connor nee Moss (Derrycloney, Mountmellick/Beechlawn Portlaoise). She will be very sadly missed and remembered with much love by her sisters Helen (Williams), Adrienne (O’Rourke) and Eimer (Doherty), nieces and nephews Amy, Niamh, Daniel, Clíodhna, Conor, Oisín and Aoife, her brothers in law, aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends, especially Cathy Molloy, colleagues and neighbours.
Reposing in Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Clonsilla, Dublin D15PY23, on Friday from 4pm until 6pm.
Reposing in Moloney’s Funeral Home, Mountmellick, on Saturday from 10am until removal at 10.45am to St. Joseph’s Church, Mountmellick, for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial after in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Joan (Joanie) Kelly (née Keenan)
Derry, Rosenallis, Laois
Joan (Joanie) Kelly, nee Keenan, Derry, Rosenallis and formerly Harbour Street, Mountmellick. Died June 12th, unexpectedly, in the loving care of the wonderful care of the staff at Oak Dale Nursing Home, Portarlington.
Predeceased by her dear husband Frank and her loving parents Tim and Bridie Keenan. Deeply regretted by her loving family, her many close friends.
Reposing at Moloney’s Funeral Home, Mountmellick, Wednesday from 7.30pm. Recital of the rosary at 8.30pm. Reposing in the funeral home on Thursday from 10am. Removal at 10.30am to St Brigid’s Church, Rosenallis, for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial after in St. Brigid’s Cemetery.
Patrick (Pat) Murray
Coolaboughlan, Clonaslee, Laois
Patrick (Pat) Murray, Coolaboughlan, Clonaslee, Co. Laois, died the 13th of June 2023, peacefully, at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore, Co. Offaly.
He will be sadly missed by his brothers Jimmy and Liam, his sister Frances, sisters-in-law Dolores and Cathriona, brother-in-law Pat, nephews and nieces William, Lorraine, Michael, Áine, Noelle and Tara, grand nephews and niece Will, Bobby, Tim, Evan and Pheobe, family, relatives, and friends and the staff and residents of Carthage Nursing Home, Mucklagh, Co. Offaly.
Reposing at Carthage Nursing Home Mucklagh on Wednesday (14th) from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.
Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11am in St. Manman’s Church, Clonaslee, with burial afterwards in St. Manman’s Cemetery, Clonaslee. Pat’s Funeral Mass can be viewed on www.churchmedia.tv by selecting County Laois.

Avril Jestin
Coote Street, Portlaoise, Laois
Avril Jestin, Coote Street, Portlaoise. Died 13th June. Peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. Deeply regretted by her loving partner Pat, sister Sylvia, cousins, relatives and a large circle of friends.
Funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 15th, at 3pm in St Peter’s Church, Portlaoise followed by interment in the adjoining graveyard.
