Fennell (nee Foyle), Anne, 28 Grattan St., Portlaoise. May 26th 2023. Peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Ollie. Dearly loved mother to John, Mairead, Anne Marie, Deirdre, Sinéad, Oonagh, Ollie, Finola, Carol and Neil. Deeply regretted by their partners.

Cherished grandmother to Jack, Mark, Ailbhe, Aodha, Tom Paddy, Annie, Caoimhe, Ruairí, Abby, Dara, Kate, Joe, Lucy, Ellie, Nina and Beatrice. Deeply regretted by her loving family, brother Jim, sister Mary McWey, sisters in law, brothers in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and huge circle of friends.

Reposing at home on Sunday from 4 pm with rosary at 8 pm. Removal on Monday at 2.30 pm to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 3 pm requiem mass. It may be viewed on https://www.portlaoiseparish.ie/webcam/. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu to The Irish Cancer Society. House strictly private on Monday.

Ruth Eileen Deane
Mountmellick, Laois/Marino, Dublin

Deane, (Mountmellick and formerly of Marino, Dublin) in the loving care of the staff of Tullamore Hospital Oncology Unit. Ruth Eileen, May 25th, 2023.

Beloved daughter of the late Frank and Eileen Deane and sister of Eric and Fred. Sadly missed by her devoted partner Anthony Reddin and his family, her own family and friends.

Gerard Patrick (Gerry) O’Brien
Carlow Town, Carlow/Mountrath, Laois

Gerard Patrick (Gerry) O’Brien, Blackbog Road, Carlow and formerly of Mountrath and Aherlow, passed away peacefully on 25th May 2023 at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny surrounded by his loving family and in the tender care of the doctors, nurses and staff of the CCU.

Dearly loved and best friend of Mary (Donohue), cherished dad of Ornat, Eimear, Róisín and Máiréad, and adored granddad of Aisling, Finn, Isobel, Laoise, Sinéad, Conn, Niamh, Aoife, Jimmy and Tadhg.

Gerry will be sadly missed by his sisters Terry, Breda and Ita, sons-in-law, PJ, Jim and Joe, brothers-in-law, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his brothers John and baby Anthony, his sisters Angela, Anne and nephew Lorcan.

Reposing in R Healy & Son Funeral Home, Pollerton Castle on Saturday, May 27th from 3pm to 5pm. Funeral Mass on Sunday at 1pm in St. Clare’s Church, Graiguecullen, followed by a private cremation.

Donal (Donie) Bergin
St. Martin’s Avenue, Naas, Kildare/Abbeyleix, Laois

Formerly of Abbeyleix, Co. Laois. In the tender care of the staff of Naas Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Mary, father of Donal, James (Jim), Liz, Mary and Ann. Sadly missed by his loving wife and family, brothers John and Joe, sisters Sarah and Claire, daughters-in-law Jean and Anne, sons-in-law Jim and Leslie, Liz’s partner Mike, grandchildren Tamara, Luke, Keith, Rebecca, Rachel and Matthew, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at The George Mullins Funeral Home, Kilcullen Road, Naas (eircode W91 CD0K) on Sunday from 3pm to 6pm with prayers at 5.30pm. Funeral on Monday with Requiem Mass at 10am in The Church of Our Lady and St. David, Naas and afterwards to St. Corban’s Cemetery, Dublin Road, Naas. Aoife Tobin
Portlaoise, Laois/Bray, Wicklow

Aoife Tobin of Ballycarnan, Co. Laois and formerly of Bray, Co. Wicklow, passed away peacefully at home, after a courageous battle, on Wednesday 24th May 2023, to the inexpressible grief of her partner Matt and her loving family. Beloved daughter of John and the late Pauline. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her loving partner Matt, by John and Laura, cherished sisters Ashley, Emma, Shaunee and Laura, brother Seán, brothers-in-law Ciarán, Cameron and Chris, sister-in-law Elana, nephew Callum, niece Hollie, by Orla and Monica Thornton and her extended family and friends.

We will celebrate Aoife’s life on Saturday, 27th May, at 10.30am in Colliers Funeral Home, Old Connaught Avenue, Bray with burial afterwards in Shanganagh Cemetery. No flowers please. Donations, if desired, to Laois Hospice or Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin. For those who are unable to attend, the service may also be viewed on the following LINK.

Doody. Sarah (Babs) Ridge Rd., Portlaoise. 24th May 2023. Peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the exceptional and tender care of her second family at St Vincents Hosp. Mountmellick.Predeceased by her husband Andy. Dearly loved mother to Carol and Gerard. Cherished grandmother to Eimhin, Eoghan, Aisling. Phillip, Elaine and Eimear. Great-grandmother to Robyn and Ada.. Cummins, Paraic, Limetree Ave., Kilminchy, Portlaoise. 20th May 2023. Peacefully at St James Hospital. After a short illness. Son of the recently deceased Margaret Cummins. Predeceased by his sister Maddie. Dearly loved husband to Linda. Cherished father to Sarah and Conor. Deeply regretted by his father John, brother Sean, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, cousins and a large circle of friends and neighbours.
