In the second episode of our new #LoveLaois Podcast we hear from newly-crowned Laois Rose Sinead Dowd.
Based in Cullohill, she tells the brilliant story of how she grew up in New York before convincing her parents to allow her move to Ireland when she was just 16 to live with her cousins.
She is now an English and Geography teacher in Scoil Chriost Ri in Portlaoise and will represent Laois in the Dome in Tralee in August.
Steven and Alan predict that she should have a very good chance – as well as discussing some other recent stories, including the news that the Kolbe school build will proceed after all.
They also chat about Joe Biden’s recent visit to Ireland, the closure of a local newsagents and some of the famous Irish kidnappings over the years.
