Two Laois players have been nominated for GAA Player of the Week awards following stellar performances.
Laois minor hurler Justin Duggan and Laois senior footballer Mark Barry have been shortlisted.
Duggan was in action on Good Friday for the minors while Barry played on Easter Sunday for the seniors.
The Laois minor hurlers took on Antrim in Abbottstown in what was a must win game in order to keep their season alive.
The Harps’ Justin Duggan was influential in their success as he scored 3-5 – including a last minute goal.
He has been shortlisted in the Minor category alongside Kildare footballer Joey Cunningham and Cork Camogie’s Ciara Morrison.
Meanwhile, O’Dempsey’s forward Mark Barry shot the lights out in O’Moore Park on Sunday.
He scored 2-4 in a Round 1 win over Wexford and almost completed a hat-trick too only for the crossbar to get in his way.
He was nominated alongside Roscommon’s Enda Smith and New York’s Gavin O’Brien.
