Mountmellick man all set to represent Laois at Macra Mr Personality Festival

Andrew Dunne will represent Laois at the 16th Annual Mr Personality Festival which is being organised by Kilkenny County Macra na Feirme.

The festival will take place from April 14-15 at The Talbot Hotel, Clonmel.

The festival has been kindly sponsored by Kilkenny, Carlow and District Farm Relief Services.

Andrew, from Mountmellick, is 31 years old and he is an active member of Mountmellick Macra na Feirme.

His hobbies and interests include playing music, GAA, badminton, going to concerts and quizzes. He is a man of many talents.

Andrew believes he will make a good representative for Laois.

He said: “I don’t know if I should or shouldn’t be Mr Personality that is for someone else to decide, but I am just going to have the craic with the other lads and make new friends.

“If I win it would be absolutely fantastic and if not it will hopefully still be a weekend to remember.”

He has a jam-packed weekend ahead of him. The contestants will arrive at The Talbot Hotel at 6pm on April 14 with the on-stage interviews starting at 8pm.

The on-stage interviews will be conducted by the new MC for 2023, Miss Michelle Heffernan from Beat 102-103.

This will be followed by music from the much-anticipated The Waxies and DJ til late.

Andrew will have an early start on Saturday morning with contestant private interviews with our judges.

After lunch, the contestant challenges will take place! On Saturday evening, Andrew will be donning his suit and meeting with Kilkenny, Carlow and District Farm Relief Services and have their official photos taken.

This is followed by the banquet, starting at 7.30pm. Hot Fuss will be playing hit after hit, until Mr Personality 2023 is announced at 12 midnight. The DJ will be continuing the celebrations til the early morning.
