Laois 4-8 Wicklow 1-7
Leinster U-16 ‘B’ Ladies Football Championship Round 2
The Laois U-16 Ladies team made it two wins from two in the Leinster championship over the weekend.
Ken Farrell’s charges put in a serious second half performance to get the better of Wicklow in tough conditions.
Bray Emmets GAA’s all-weather pitch was the venue for this contest on Saturday afternoon.
A physical Wicklow side matched Laois in the first half as the sides headed for the break level at 1-5 apiece.
But the tie changed in the opening five minutes of the second half as Laois scored 2-2 without reply.
The best of the scores came when a move started by Laois keeper Grace Foxe saw several players involved in handpassing the ball down field before Aisling Cawley eventually buried it into the net.
Laois now have a three week break before they are at home to Longford in Round 3.
