Ballsbridge, Dublin / Portlaoise, Laois

McCarthy, Mary (née Comerford) (Ballsbridge, Dublin 4 and formerly of Portlaoise), February 6th, 2023, peacefully in the wonderful care of the Mater Private Hospital and Professor Denise Sadlier, beloved wife of the late Dr. Donal and loving mother of Geraldine, Donal and Elaine. Deeply regretted by her loving family, sons-in-law Dermot and David, daughter-in-law Barbara, her treasured grandchildren, Maeve, Grace, Dermot, Maya, Donal and Patrick, great-grandchildren, Finn and Zoe and their father James, Grace’s fiancé Philip and extended family and friends.

Reposing at Fanagans Funeral Home, Dundrum on Thursday (9th February) from 5pm to 7pm. Requiem Mass on Friday (February 10th) at 11am in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Donnybrook which may be viewed on the following link, https://donnybrookparish.ie/webcam/, followed by cremation at Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross.

Margaret McEvoy (née O’Neill)
Windsor, Coolrain, Laois / Clondalkin, Dublin

Margaret McEvoy (née O’Neill), Windsor, Coolrain, Portlaoise, Co. Laois, and late of Clondalkin, Dublin. Died 6th February 2023, at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Kieran, mother to Kevin and Cathy. Sadly missed by her loving husband, son, daughter, grandson Jordan, brothers, sisters, extended family, relatives and friends.

Removal on Thursday morning to St. Fintan’s Church Mountrath, for Requiem Mass at 10.0’clock, followed by Cremation at Newlands Cross Crematorium at 2.30 p.m.

James (Jim) Kerwin
Killeaney, Kilbricken, Mountrath, Laois

James (Jim) Kerwin, Killeaney, Kilbricken, & Caoch O’ Leary’s, Ballacolla, Co. Laois. Died 6th February 2023, (peacefully) at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise, surrounded by his beloved family.

He is predeceased by his parents William and Mary-Anne, sister Mary, recently deceased brother Murt and infant sister Sheila.

Sadly missed by his sister Kathleen, brothers Billy, Pad, Tom, Charlie, sisters-in-law Ann and Agnes, beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his brother Tom’s house (eircode R32E2D8) on Tuesday evening from 3.0’clock, with Rosary at 7.30 p.m. Removal on Wednesday afternoon to St. Brigid’s Church Shanahoe (eircode R32AH90), for Requiem Mass at 2.0’clock, followed by Burial in the adjoining Cemetery. Nora Fitzpatrick (née Larkin)
Coolderry, Ballacolla, Laois

Peacefully at her residence in the care of her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Paddy, brother Sean, sisters Peg, Maureen and Olive, and good friend Sean.

Deeply regretted by her sons John, Eamonn and Padhraig, daughters Marion (Keegan) and Fiona (Deegan), grandchildren Jamie, Amy, Megan, Leah, Aisling, Cormac, Evan, Mark and Dara, daughters-in-law Irene and Roslyn, sons-in-law Matthew and Martin, sisters Shiela and Bess, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her residence from 4pm. to 8pm. on Tuesday. Removal on Wednesday to The Church Of The Immaculate Conception, Ballacolla for 2pm. Requiem Mass. Interment afterwards in St. Fergal’s Cemetery, Ballacolla.

Died unexpectedly Feb 5th 2023. Predeceased by his adored son Anto, parents Michael and Elizabeth, brothers Mick and Jim. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Dolores, his children Elizabeth, Paul, Lourda, Kevin and Yvonne, sons-in-law, Sean, Dave and Andrew, daughter-in-law Francine.

Sadly missed by his beloved grandchildren Ben, Tara, Mia, Tom, Eve, Ronan, Ellis and Ethan. Brothers Paddy, Joe, Lazzie, and Thomas. Sisters Mary (Furey), Anne (Cuddy), Lilly (Cuddy) and Margaret (O’Brien). Brothers-in-Law, sisters-in-law, neighbours, relatives and many friends.

Reposing in his home (R32D2Y5) on Tuesday from 3pm. Recital of The Rosary at 8 pm. Removal on Wednesday morning at 10:15 to St. Fintan’s Church Mountrath for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial after in St. Fintan’s Cemetery.

Tom Murphy
Upper Newcastle, Galway City, Galway/Ballybrittas, Laois

Tom passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the care of Brampton Care Home, Oranmore on 4 February, 2023. Pre-deceased by his son Micheál and by his siblings Dick, Billy, Con, Tess and Breege.

Beloved husband of Mary and much-loved father of Seán, Liam, Siobhán, Padraic, Enda, Deirdre and the late Micheál. Deeply mourned and sadly missed by his wife, sons and daughters, brothers Mick, Fr Seán and Jim, sisters Mary and Rose, sons-in-law and daughters-in-law. Lovingly remembered by his fourteen adored grandchildren and great-grandchild who Tom was very proud of. He will be also missed by the extended Murphy and Earley family, kind neighbours and many friends.

Reposing at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway (H91V1K8) on Tuesday, 7 February, from 5.30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Arriving at Galway Cathedral on Wednesday, 8 February, in advance of Requiem Mass at 12 noon, and after Mass Tom will be laid to rest in Bohermore Cemetery.
