The Operation Transformation bandwagon rolled into Portarlington on Friday evening with the latest ad break challenge being recorded in the town.
Having been in Stradbally, Vicarstown, Portlaoise, Kilcavan and Ratheniska it was only fitting that the popular ad break challenge should come from Portarlington too considering the strong link between the town and the show.
Eddie Murphy and Dr Sumi Dunne are regulars on the show and they were joined by some of this year’s leaders – as well as local legend Terry Lawler who joined Karl Henry on stage for the ad break challenge.
Hundreds of people from the local community turned out to take part where they were put through their paces by Karl – and played their part in the making of the key segment of the show.
The event was recorded at the Leisure Centre in the town.
Also on display was the Jack Delaney Cup, the Laois senior football trophy that Portarlington have won in each of the past three seasons.
The footage will be available to watch on this week’s programme which will be on RTE on Wednesday night.
In the meantime you can check out a selection of photos from local photographer Ray Commins.
