There is sadness in Ballacolla and Cullohill areas this week following the passing of a Laois mother and wife who has been described as a ‘beautiful, kind person’.
Agnes Hyland, née Deegan, passed away peacefully at Portlaoise Regional Hospital in the presence of her loving family on Tuesday January 10.
Originally from Cullohill, Agnes is sadly missed by her loving husband Joe and her beloved son Ben.
Tributes have been paid on social media to the late Agnes, including from Unique Hair Studio in Rathdowney where she worked previously and by her most recent employers The Hair House in Rathdowney.
Agnes was also a proud supporter of Clough-Ballacolla camogie club and they also paid tribute.
They said: “It is with deep sadness that Clough/Ballacolla Community hear of the passing of Agnes Hyland (nee Deegan) Clough/Ballacolla Camogie Club wish to offer their deepest sympathy to the Hyland family Currawn, Aghaboe, Ballacolla.
“A loyal supporter of the blue and yellow, she will be forever remembered for the beautiful kind person she was.”
Agnes will be deeply missed by her godchild Maebh, her parents Donal and Margaret Deegan, her brothers Dan, Joe, Martin, Liam, Fintan and John Paul, her twin sister Breda and her sister Annmarie, father-in-law Mikie Hyland and mother-in-law Nora, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives and a wide circle of friends.
Agnes will be reposing at her home (Currawn) R32 NH05, on Thursday and Friday evening from 4pm with prayers at 8pm on both evenings.
Her funeral Mass will take place on Saturday at 12 noon in St. Canice’s Church, Clough (https://youtube.com/c/AllisonritchiechurchSinger) followed by interment in Aghaboe.
