Predeceased by her husband Thomas (Tommy), sons Seamus and T.J.. Deeply regretted by her loving family, daughters Breada and Josie, sons Con, Gerard and Liam, sisters Phil and Patricia, brothers Oliver and Martin, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Mai O’Rourke (née Conroy)

O’Rourke Mai (nee Conroy) Springfield, Ballyfin, 10th January 2023. Peacefully, in the loving care of the matron and staff of Lourdesville Nursing Home, Co. Kildare, in her 103rd year. Predeceased by her husband Liam. Deeply regretted by her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives, dear neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Keegan’s funeral home on Friday from 6pm with rosary at 7pm. Removal on Saturday to St. Fintan’s Church, Ballyfin, for 11am requiem Mass. Interment afterwards in St. Fintan’s Cemetery, Ballyfin.
Agnes Hyland (née Deegan)

Agnes Hyland (nee Deegan), Currawn, Aghaboe, Ballacolla, Co. Laois. January 10th 2023. Peacefully at Portlaoise Regional Hospital in the presence of her loving family. Following a long illness, predeceased by her infant sister Mary. Sadly missed by her loving husband Joe and her beloved son Ben, her godchild Maebh, her parents Donal and Margaret Deegan, her brothers Dan, Joe, Martin, Liam, Fintan and John Paul, her twin sister Breda and her sister Annmarie, father-in-law Mikie Hyland and mother-in-law Laura, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives and a wide circle of friends.
Reposing at her home (Currawn) R32 NH05, on Thursday and Friday evening from 4pm with prayers at 8pm on both evenings. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 12 noon in St. Canice’s Church, Clough followed by interment in Aghaboe. Family flowers only, donations can be made to The Cuisle Centre.

Margaret ( Peig ) Bergin, ( née Fitzpatrick ), Frankford, Kilcormac, Co. Offaly and formerly of Ballyroan, Co. Laois, died January 11th, peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband William, baby daughter Geraldine, daughter-in-law Geraldine and recently deceased sister Betty. She will be sadly missed by her sons and daughters; Cathleen, Jacinta, Garrett, Mairéad, Ciara, Liam, Tony and Clare, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, her brothers Séan and Paddy and her sister Nan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Moloneys Funeral Home, Mountmellick(R32 PC95) on Thursday evening from 6.00pm with Recital of the Rosary at 7.30pm. Removal on Friday morning at 10.50 arriving at St. Joseph’s Church Mountmellick for Funeral Requiem Mass at 11.00am. Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

William Henry (Bill) Cobbe, late of Tramore Heights, Tramore, formerly of Portarlington, Co. Laois, passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday the 10th of January 2023.
Predeceased by his loving wife Helen and his sisters Maureen and Sheila.
He will be sadly missed by his son Billy; his daughters Elaine and Annie; his daughter-in-law Kerry-Anne; his son-in-law John; his grandchildren Liam and Saoirse; his nephews Edward and David, and his niece Emer. He will be sadly missed by all his extended family, wonderful neighbours and many friends.
Bill’s remains will be reposing at Falconer’s Funeral Home, Riverstown, Tramore, on Thursday, the 12th of January, from 5pm to 7 pm.

Mary Maher (nee Allen) 42, Borris Road, Portlaoise, formally of Eyne, Portlaoise. Mary died peacefully, in her own home, today, Sunday 8th January. Mary is predeceased by her father Peter Allen, brother Gerry Allen, uncle Johnny Allen, nephew Peter Tobin and sister in law Patricia Allen and her Mother in law Ellen Maher, brother in law John and sisters in law Eileen, Mary Anne and Peggy. Mary is survived by her loving husband Gerry, daughters Geraldine and Caitriona, son in law John, her 4 grandchildren and Caitriona’s partner Padraig. Mary is also survived by her mother, Bridie, sisters Breda and Barbara and brothers Harry, Dan and John Allen, sisters and brother in laws, nieces and nephews.

Declan Bracken

The death has occurred of Declan Bracken, , London, late of Portlaoise, Sydney, San Francisco, Fair Isle and Overton. Declan passed away unexpectedly on 5th January, 2023. He is profoundly missed by his children Oisín, Orla and Jess and his wife Lisa, along with his daughter Niamh. His passing is deeply regretted by his parents Tom and Nancy Bracken, Block Road, Portlaoise and his sisters Phil and Ann, brothers Enda, Sean, Kevin, Michael and Feargal, predeceased by his infant brother Vincent, along with his sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews and by his extended family across the globe.
Declan will be missed by his soul mates and dear friends from Portlaoise, the UK and beyond. Declan is also in the thoughts and prayers of his colleagues from the National Health Service, where he had dedicated so much of his energies to the health care and service of others, especially during the Covid pandemic.
