Extreme sadness following tragic death of Ronan Culleton

Ronan Culleton RIP

Tributes have been paid to Ronan Culleton, the young Laois dad who passed away in hospital in Dublin this week following an accident before Christmas.

Mr Culleton, from Cloonagh, Mountmellick, passed away peacefully in Beuamont Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his wife Joanna and three daughters Aoife, Aisling and Aoibheann.

A highly-respected engineer and well known across the construction industry, Ronan was involved in a number of local groups – with Ballyfin GAA and Portarlington Golf Clubs among those to pay tribute online.

“It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of our esteemed member Ronan Culleton,” said Portarlington Golf Club in a statement.

“Ronan joined Portarlington Golf Club as a Junior member, and represented Portarlington at interclub level.

“One of life’s gentlemen and all round good guy, Ronan along with his dad Pat did a huge amount of unseen work in the golf club over the last few years and he remained modest throughout, which showed the strength of his character.

“Ronan will be sadly missed by all of us, and our sympathy goes out to the Culleton family at this difficult time.”

“It was with heartbreak we learned the terrible news yesterday of the tragic passing of Ronan Culleton,” said Ballyfin GAA.

“Our friend and team mate suffered an accident three weeks ago and despite our hopes and best efforts of Beaumont Hospital he slipped away peacefully yesterday morning surrounded by his loving family.

“Our very deepest dympathies go to his heartbroken family, his wife Joanna, daughters Aoife, Aisling and Aoibheann, his parents Pat and Mary and sister Maria and wide circle of family and friends.”

“We wish to extend our deepest sympathy and condolences to the family of a dear friend Ronan Culleton, an absolute gentleman who would go above and beyond to help our community,” said Mountmellick Central Hub, a local community group in the time.

“May God look over his family and friends and may his gentle soul rest in peace.”

Ronan is deeply missed by his loving wife Joanna, his adoring daughters Aoife, Aisling and Aoibheann; his parents Mary and Pat, his sister Maria, mother-in-law Bernie, brother-in-law James, sister-in-law Julie, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and a large circle of family and friends. Predeceased by his father-in-law Jimmy Gallagher.
