A return to normality in March as schools and local groups from around Stradbally created a St Patrick’s Day parade to remember.
The Stradbally St Patrick’s Day parade returned in all its glory this morning as a huge crowd turned out – to both take part and watch on.
There were representatives from a number of local groups and schools.
Cosby NS, St Colman’s NS and Early Learning Montessori were all represented with the parade starting at the Rathmore Road (Portlaoise end) and marching through the town, around court square and back.
Sporting groups like Stradbally GAA, Stradbally Town soccer, the Timahoe Ladies football club and T & S Utd underage soccer all took part as well, all proudly showing off their club colours.
Various community organisations were also represented as well as a number of local businesses.
Lorries, vintage tractors and steam engines – in a nod to the town’s strong history of hosting the Steam Rally – also went through the town.
The Buggie School of Dancers performed in the centre of the town while the Lynam School danced inside the church gates – all to a huge audience.
You can check out a selection of photos from Ross Molloy who was on hand to capture the occasion.
