The true spirit of Christmas took centre stage at Scoil Mhuire Fatima recently as the Timahoe NS Nativity took place.
Preparation for the Nativity began back in November. The sixth class students took the lead in acting and all other mainstream classes took part in the chorus for the singing.
The boys and girls spent the last number of weeks learning lines, rehearsing, and singing songs – and it paid off.
These really are a creative bunch and they also designed and constructed a fabulous array of backdrops, stage-props and costumes under the guidance of Annette, Margaret Mary and Anne.
Ms Moore and Mr Culleton directed the Nativity. Their attention to detail was second to none and it was a super production from start to finish.
In store for the audience was a truly unforgettable performance, with the Nativity brought to life in a skilfully retold script with stunning music.
With tickets very reasonably priced the school hall was sold out on Wednesday and Thursday so a third day was added on Friday to make sure nobody missed out.
“The culture of Arts Education is well and truly alive in Timahoe NS” Principal Mr McEvoy exclaimed as he addressed the audience after the show. T
he Parents Association provided prizes for the raffle on all three days also.
All in all it was a wonderful way to celebrate the beginning of Christmas in Timahoe NS.
