There’s nothing like a fundraising Tractor Run to bring a rural community together.
And so it was on The Heath on Sunday morning as a huge crowd turned out to take part in a fundraising event for the local primary school.
The fact that it was a Christmas-themed event only added to the occasion.
Tractors arrived decorated – with lights and tinsel on loaders and sprayers and blow-up Santas and snowmen taking up good vantage points on the various cabs.
There was even a Massey 135 out for the day while Santa himself rocked up in the back of a transport box.
Over 50 tractors gathered at the community hall before going on a route around the local roads.
But the highlight was arguably a kid’s pedal power race that was contested with serious gusto.
Organised by The Heath NS Parents Council, all the money raised is to support the development of the Infant playground in The Heath NS.
