A Laois GAA club are set to host a race night this weekend in a bid to raise funds to construct a community sports hall.
Colt GAA are hosting the event in Doogue’s Pub in Raheen on Saturday November 5 at 8.30pm.
If successful, those behind the sports hall hope to construct it on the grounds of Colt GAA.
This, they say, would be a facility that would be available to the entire community.
A spokesperson said: “Colt GAA are proud to present a race night in aid of the development of a community sports hall.
“We want to thank everyone who supported our event with a special mention to the local businesses who provided sponsorship for the night.
“This event marks the beginning of our journey which is to eventually end in the completion of a sports hall alike to the plans attached.
“This facility will be of value to the community of Raheen and all of its teams.
“As a result we need a big push from not only the Raheen but our wider community as a whole.
“Look forward to seeing everyone for a great night.”
