Teachers and students are enjoying their midterm break this week but many of them finished with quite a bang last week.
The first half of the first term of the school year concluded with a Halloween celebration last Friday.
School is scary business sometimes and in Portlaoise College this took on a whole new meaning.
There were lots of spooky, unusual, scary creatures and characters in the school on the last day of term.
There were many ghosts, goblins, witches, super heroes, celebrities, devils, angels and more as the students paraded around the school.
Teachers and students alike enjoyed trying to guess who was who as many costumes gave no clues as to the owner.
Principal Mr Daly wished students and staff a lovely break.
He said: “Following what is always the busiest time of the year it is great that we have all got to the midterm safely.
“As always thanks for the massive effort made by everyone over the last 10 weeks. Please take as much time as possible over the next week to recharge and rest up with your families”
It was a similar story in Scoil Mhuire in Abbeyleix where the costumes were quite simply off the charts.
