After a hiatus due to the Covid pandemic, Abbeyleix Further Education and Training Centre graduation night returned last Friday, October 21.
Over 100 students received certification at the event which was held at the Abbeyleix Manor Hotel. The graduates were accompanied by family members and friends.
LOETB’s FET Pathways Manager, Anne Marie Keane was on hand to present certificates and there were some inspiring speeches delivered by former students who were in attendance.
Centre Manager Helen Kavanagh spoke of the importance of maintaining and growing the inclusive learning environment within the centre and highlighted the importance of recognising and celebrating the achievements of the students.
She also offered words of praise to the teaching staff of the centre which was enthusiastically endorsed by all present.
Abbeyleix FETC graduates were awarded certification in QQI Levels 3 through 6 across multiple disciplines.
Awards were conferred in Business, Healthcare, Art Craft and Design, Animation, Advanced Art, Information Technology and General Studies.
Ms Kavanagh further outlined the developments within the centre which include new Biosciences and Nursing Studies courses.
She acknowledged the continued investment from the LOETB in the centre which enables it to continue to serve the local community and provide flexible pathways for those within to embark on new learning opportunities.
