St Mary’s CBS Portlaoise hosted a very successful open night in their school on the Borris Road recently.
Parents, guardians and students of 5th and 6th class students from across the county attended in high numbers and enjoyed a fantastic evening.
Attendees were given a guided tour of the school and complex with current students and staff members, as well as a small CBS themed goodie bag.
As guests visited each subject department, students and teachers chatted a little about their subjects and some of the current students showcased their favourite subjects in action.
But it wasn’t just subjects that were on show, there were a range of other rooms to visit such as the Extra Curricular room.
Here each sport/club/society had a display and students to speak to, an iPad room, Scholarship room and many many more.
Some of the student musicians provided some entertainment along the corridors including members of the hit band Anita.
As Ms. Murphy gave her Principals address in the GPA to the parents/guardians, the 5th and 6th class students went to the Nagle Rice Sports Hall for supervised games and activities with the student leaders and teachers.
There was a swell of enthusiasm and air of excitement from the corridors and classrooms of St. Mary’s CBS.
This would not have been possible without their wonderful staff and students.
