Excitement is building ahead of a night of glitz and glamour that is planned at the end of the month.
Portlaoise College are preparing to host a ‘Harvest Ball’ in the Midlands Park Hotel in Portlaoise.
The event will take place on Saturday October 29 at 7.30pm and all funds raised are going to a worthy cause.
Each year at Portlaoise College, they award two students with a Scholarship Bursary worth €1,000 each which goes towards their third level education fees.
The Parents Council have supported the scholarship programme by fundraising each year to sponsor the Bursary.
Tickets for this event are priced at €55 and they include a four course meal.
There will also be a raffle on the night and dancing will continue until late.
Sinead Walsh is chairperson of the Parent’s Council and she says it should be a great night.
She said: “I would urge everyone to come join us for a night of great food and great music.
“There will be fantastic spot prizes available on the night in our raffle too – so it really is a night not to be missed.
“Our first ever Harvest Ball has the potential to become a permanent fixture in not just our school calendar, but our community’s calendar too.
