Ard Eireann Macra na Feirme is set to hold its first event of the new Macra year this Friday.
On September 9 from 8pm, the event will take the form of a “Pizza Day” in Mariana’s Diner in Mountrath.
The event aims to welcome new and prospective members to Laois’ newest Macra club.
After a brief outline of what Ard Eireann Macra is and what they intend to do, the main objective of the evening is to eat pizza, get talking to each other and have fun.
Set up for young farmers as well as people in the area of all backgrounds and interests, Ard Eireann Macra has been established to bring back some buzz to Mountrath, Camross, Castletown, Ballyfin, Borris in Ossory and the surrounding areas.
It is hoped that this new Macra club can kickstart the community and help young people to get to know each other in a safe and fun environment.
Macra is a rural youth organisation with numerous branches across the country.
It focuses on enriching the lives of our rural youth through social events, sports, agricultural skills, drama, public speaking, debating and educating.
These are all done in an informal, friendly and fun atmosphere. Macra organises various events throughout the year to cater for a wide range of tastes for people aged from 17 up to 35.
All are welcome on the evening. For those interested in learning more, Ard Eireann can be contacted on Instagram, Facebook or by telephone on 086-8151739.
