Teac Tom Giving Light and Hope walk set to return after Covid-19 absence

Sacred space: Teac Tom provides counselling and support at its premises in Stradbally

Teac Tom are holding their annual Giving Light and Hope walk which will be held in Castletown on Sunday September 11.

The walk will get underway at 11.30am. The popular charity have held virtual events over the past two years.

So, after a tough and mentally challenging couple of years, they are delighted to be able to return to the outdoors in numbers.

The walk is to remember loved one’s family and friends that we lost to suicide.

It is a lovely opportunity to meet other people and feel the support on offer.

The walk will help raise vital funds for the charity. Any donations are welcome and can be given here.

Teac Tom have done tremendous work since it first opened counselling its doors in Kilkenny city in 2015.

They have a councilling centre in Stradbally which has been open since last November.

The charity offers professional mental health support and suicide bereavement services to people of all ages, as well as 24-hour phone support.

They provide free counselling services, group and family therapy and children’s play therapy to those in need of support in our community.

Teac Tom receives no government funding to provide its services and is funded entirely by donations from individuals, clubs and companies as well as community-based fundraising events.
