Gerald (Gerry) Brennan
The Swan, Wolfhill, Laois
Gerry (Gerald Patrick Joseph) – latterly of Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire, England but formerly of The Swan, Wolfhill, Co. Laois. It is with great sadness we announce the death of Gerry much loved husband to Maria, and father to Patricia, Jacqueline & Desmond and a devoted grandfather to his 5 grandchildren. He died peacefully after a short illness on August 26th aged 86 years.
Gerry moved to London in 1956 where he met Maria and established a wonderful life and home for them and their growing family. They lived and worked in West London in Acton until 2002 when himself and Maria moved out to Stoke Poges to enjoy their retirement.
However, his ties to Ireland remained strong maintained by his membership of the GAA playing for the Garryowen in London and many of the Irish communities that Maria and him were part of through church, sport and schools over the years. An incredible Christian who gave so much all his life to others and will be forever known as a humble gentleman.
We are hugely supported by the Brennan family (The Swan, Wolfhill) and O’Brien family (Maria’s family of Ballyhahill, Limerick) and many friends and relations at this very difficult time We offer our heartfelt thanks to our family, friends and neighbours who have passed on their condolences and shared so many memories with us.
