Formerly of St Michael’s Park, Portarlington. Peacefully at the Regional Hospital Tullamore. Loving son of Martin and the late Esther. Sadly missed by his loving aunts, uncles, Martin’s partner Mary, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Sheila Egan (nee Costello) Redgate, Ballyfin, Portlaoise, Co. Laois passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at Portlaoise General Hospital surrounded by her loving family on the 16th August 2022. Predeceased by her husband Matty, brother Danny and sister Sr Eilish Costello.
Beloved mother of Kevin, Marie, Matt, Martina, Julie, Eugene and Fiona. Cherished grandmother to Kevin, Tracey, Dara and Ashley. Deeply regretted by her sisters Bridgie and Phyllis, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, neices, relatives, neighbours and good friends.
Philomena O’Brien
Chapel Street, Mountmellick, Laois
Philomena O’Brien Chapel Street, Mountmellick, Co. Laois, died August 16th 2022, unexpectedly. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Christy, daughter Nora and son Declan, son-in-law John Paul, daughter-in-law Catherine, grandchildren Jordan, Shannon, Max, Callum and Leon, Aunt Lucy, cousin Mary Murphy, neighbours, relatives and her many friends.

Breda Keane (née Kelly)

Breda Keane (nee Kelly) passed away peacefully on 14 August 2022 surrounded by her family in the care of staff at Tallaght Hospital. Beloved wife of Joe and dearly loved Mother of Darren, Paul, Andrea and Emma.
Cherished grandmother to Naomi, Ciara, Ryan, Sophie, Amy and Ethan and mother-in-law to Emily. Deeply mourned by her sisters Marie, Ann, Patricia, Síle and Orla and brothers Patrick and David, aunt Maura, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces extended family, friends and neighbours.
Reposing at the family home in Corrigeen, Stradbally, Co. Laois (R32F5H2) on Tuesday from 4pm with the Rosary at 8pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, 17 August, at 12 noon at the Church of the Assumption, The Heath https://www.portlaoiseparish.ie/the-heath-webcam/.
Burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family house private Wednesday morning. Please observe Covid precautions.
George (Georgie) Brophy

Beloved son of the late William & Margaret, pre-deceased by his sister Patricia.
Georgie will be sadly missed by his loving brothers and sisters, Jimmy, Liam, Frank, John, Ann, Margaret, Theresa, Maura, Bernadette, and Claire, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family and friends.
Reposing at Coady’s Funeral Home, Castlecomer on Tuesday (16th August) from 3pm with vigil prayers and rosary at 7.30pm. Funeral Prayers on Wednesday morning at 11am followed by removal to Saint Abban’s Church, Doonane for Requiem Mass at 12 Noon, with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Colette Conroy The Dangans, Mountmellick, Co Laois. Died August 13th 2022, peacefully at home, in the company of her loving family. Predeceased by her brothers Eamonn and Pat. Deeply regretted by her siblings Eily Healion, Peig Whelan, Phil Brooks, Mary Arthur, Mona Conroy, Josephine Weir, Agnes Delaney and Anne Gaffney, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, neighbours, relatives and friends.
Reposing in Moloney’s Funeral Home, Mountmellick, on Sunday from 4pm. Recital of The Rosary at 6pm. Prayers in Moloney’s Funeral Home on Monday at 10am. Removal at 10.45am to St. Joseph’s Church for 11am. Burial after in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. House Private.

Downey, Terry, New Rd., Portlaoise. Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, August 13th 2022. Predeceased by his son John and daughter Catherine and grandchild Edee. Beloved husband of Mary. Dearly loved father to Marie, Claire, Tom and Valerie.
Cherished grandfather to Isobel, Poppy, Finty, Sarah, Chloe, Jasper, Archie, and Jimmy. Deeply regretted by his loving family; sister Esther, sons in law Fintan, Pat and Jamie, daughter in law Jean, brother in law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at his family home from 5pm on Sunday with rosary at 8pm. Removal on Monday to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church, for 12.30pm requiem Mass. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul’s cemetery afterwards.
