Anyone who has ever been associated with a GAA team has dreamed of lining out in Croke Park.
And this week a number of young players from around Laois got to sample that as part of a Leinster GAA Experience Day for U-11 players from around the province.
A similar day was organised for a couple of years pre-Covid but none since 2019.
And given the backlog it wasn’t possible to cope with demand – so clubs had to enter a competition to see who got to go this year.
From Laois, the U-11 footballers of Graiguecullen, Arles-Killeen, Annanough and Timahoe were the lucky ones while Portlaoise, Abbeyleix and Trumera brought hurling teams.
All clubs got to play against a game from a team from a different county as well as getting into the dressing rooms, coming out of the tunnel and getting to lift a trophy in the Hogan Stand.
What a day for the children, their coaches and families.
You can check out a selection of images below of the Laois teams that took part.
