The town of Portarlington has opened its arms wide to welcome many members of the Ukraine community, who have fled their country in recent months.
And this evening, Saturday, July 23, there will be Cultural Ukraine Day event in Scoil Padraig in the town.
The entertainment begins at 5pm, which is by invite only, with an open invitation from 7pm.
It is free to attend.
With the hall in the new school impeccably prepared, there will be a range of attractions including:
- Ukrainian food
- Art space
- Poetic readings
- Irish music
- Ukrainian dancing
- Multicultural atmosphere
- Exhibition of children’s drawings
