As the Laois GAA fixture schedule turns to football this week, the Junior ‘B’ and ‘C’ grades had a selection of games down for decision this evening.
Stradbally continued their good form in the lower grades with a second win in the Junior ‘B’ competition, a 3-13 to 1-11 triumph over Graiguecullen that leaves them in a strong position to advance to the knockout stages.
With Portlaoise receiving a walkover from The Rock it means that the final round game between Portlaoise and Stradbally is essentially a dead rubber as both teams are through to the quarter finals.
Stradbally have already won their two Junior ‘C’ games and are through to the quarter-finals, making it four wins from four with their lower-grade teams.
In the Junior ‘C’, Colt got the better of Crettyard while Arles-Kilcruise and Killeshin drew.
There was also a number of underage games played this evening.
