Accounts/Admin Assistant
JSD is seeking an experienced Accounts/Admin Assistant to join its team.
The position will be in the head office located in Portlaoise, Co. Laois.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Finance Director.
The successful Candidate will have worked in a similar capacity previously and have a strong knowledge of finance and accounting in a construction environment.
Primary Responsibilities of the Role:
- Monitoring daily communications and answering accounts related queries.
- Preparation (cost and project coding) and entry of invoices to Creditors Ledger.
- Reviewing and verifying invoices ensuring all invoices are processed in a timely manner.
- Liaising with Management and Suppliers/Sub-contractors to follow up on queries and approvals.
- Reconciliations of supplier accounts and month-end reconciliations.
- Preparation and entry of employee expense requests.
- Maintenance of vendor files.
- Preparation of relevant monthly reports.
- Involvement in Debtors when required.
- Processing of payroll when required.
- Administration duties as required.
Skills and Qualifications
- Business or accounting technician qualification an advantage.
- Minimum of 2 years work experience in an accounts role in a fast-paced environment, preferably in the construction industry but this is not a necessity.
- Experience in supplier invoice processing and reconciliations.
- A thorough and meticulous nature, with attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Excellent communication, organisational and administrative skills.
- Must have good IT skills in Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of SAGE 50 and Thesaurus Payroll a distinct advantage.
- Flexible and motivated team player with the ability to work on own initiative.
- Good time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
- Trustworthy and discreet when dealing with confidential information.

Site Clerk
JSD is seeking an experienced Site Clerk to join its team. The location of the position will be in the head office located in Portlaoise, Co Laois and in various project locations nationwide.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Directors. The successful candidate will have worked in a similar capacity and have a strong knowledge of site administration and BCAR.
Primary Responsibilities of the Role:
- Assist the various Site Managers with the efficient running of the Site Office from an administration point of view.
- Ensuring all documents conform to established standards and procedures as required by the QEHS Management System.
- Preparing, operating, and updating Document Control Procedures in line with the Company’s Document Management system.
- Ensuring accessibility, traceability, and accuracy of documents.
- Effectively deal with enquires.
- Ensure construction records are compiled and maintained in line with time frames required, including but not limited to daily diaries, drawing registers, site inductions etc.
- Maintain ongoing communication with head office ensuring prompt completion of monthly QEHS KPI paperwork.
- Undertaking administrative duties as necessitated by changing business needs.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 1 years work experience on a construction site in a similar role
- Must have good IT skills in Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Policies
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
- Flexible and motivated team player with the ability to work on own initiative
- Good time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and within strict deadlines
- The position requires the candidate to have a vehicle and a clean Drivers Licence.

M&E/Technical Services Coordinator
JSD Contracting is seeking an experienced M&E/Technical Services Coordinator to join its team.
The location of the position will be at the head office located in Portlaoise, Co Laois.
The position will report directly to the Contracts Director. Travel to various locations depending on projects will be required.
The M&E/Technical Services Coordinator will be responsible for managing the coordination of all Building Services to ensure that the systems and the overall project are delivered, installed, and commissioned in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance
with Project Programme, Quality, Environmental, Cost and H&S parameters and in turn ensuring satisfaction of all parties.
Assist with continually maintaining and developing the Company brand through successful delivery of projects utilising quality and efficient management skills.
Primary Responsibilities of the Role:
- Liaise with design teams, JSD project teams and M&E sub-contractors.
- Assist project QS with M&E tendering.
- Attend and participate in pre-award meetings and sub-contractor pre-starts.
- Coordinate temporary M&E requirements for site set-up / project duration.
- Organise and chair regular technical services co-ordination meetings including workshops as required with the M&E sub-contractors and design teams.
- Coordinate the production of the following in conjunction with the M&E subcontractors; coordinated M&E drawings, builders works drawings, procurement schedules.
- Technical Submittals via Requests for Information and Material Approval Request Forms.
- Progress Reports
• Monitor, co-ordinate and control the flow of M&E design information to ensure the timely release of information for construction activities. - Ensure M&E information released for construction has been reviewed by all interface designers and construction team and amended/approved prior to issue for construction and is in line with the specification.
- Track the progress of the M&E sub-contractors against the main programme whilst ensuring adequate resources are consistently provided to meet the programme.
- Report any variances to the JSD Contracts Manager.
- Liaise with the utility suppliers to arrange for power, gas and data connections in a timely manner.
- Provide JSD project team with up-to-date information on current M&E developments.
- Carry out site inspections of the M&E works to ensure the installation conforms to the relevant standards.
- Regularly check the installation against the M&E specification and drawings.
- Report any non-conformity to the JSD project team and M&E contractors.
- Coordinate the testing, commissioning, BCAR and handover process with relevant specialists and sub-contractors.
- Coordinate the production of the following documents at practical completion: As built drawings and O&M manuals.
- Coordinate training and demonstrations for the client with the M&E contractors at practical completion.
- Be aware of their legal, practical and regulatory responsibilities, and have a detailed understanding of Health and Safety.
- In conjunction with the JSD Health & Safety Department, ensure that MEP subcontractors submit a safety statement and site-specific method statement before works commence.
- Check and confirm adequacy of provisions within the site-specific method statements relating to MEP works on site i.e., working with live electrical services, site deliveries etc and co-ordinate these works on site.
- Assist the JSD Health & Safety Department in the collation of the project’s safety file.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in construction as M&E/Technical Services Coordinator.
- Third level qualification in Building Services Degree or Building Services related
- Diploma or Qualified Trade (M or E) or related discipline.
- Ability to communicate effectively, manage and supervise trades and chair regular meetings.
- Ability to make informed decisions & know when to escalate.
- Knowledge of construction techniques – competent in all aspects of set out, survey & level, temporary works co-ordination.
- Computer literacy in all Microsoft Office applications as well as an understanding of AutoCAD and BIM Modelling.
- Strong numeracy and report writing skills.
