Sharon Claxton (nee O’Brien), Cashel, Pike of Rushall and formerly of Borris in Ossory, Co. Laois. June 30th 2022 (suddenly) at her home.
Pre-deceased by her parents Dickie and Kitty,
Deeply regretted and will sadly missed by her loving husband Willie, brothers, Raymond, Richard, Sean, Colm and Paul, sister Catherine (McGrath), sisters in law, Mary, Susan and Lisa, brother in law Tom, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at her home in Cashel, Pike of Rushall, (EirCode R32 D8W6) this Friday evening (July 1st.) from 4 o’c with rosary in the house at 8 o’c.
Removal on Saturday morning (July 2nd.) to the Pike of Rushall Church (EirCode R32 V320) for Funeral Mass at 10 o’c with burial immediately afterwards in Ballaghmore cemetery. House Private Please on Saturday morning.
Mary Grant (née Gorman)
Artane, Dublin / Ballyfin, Laois
GRANT, Mary, née Gorman, (Artane, Dublin and formerly The Lodge, Ballyfin, Co. Laois). 28th June, 2022, peacefully, in her 94th year, in the loving care of her family and the wonderful staff of St. Gabriel’s Nursing Home, Edenmore, Dublin 5. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Peter. Much loved mother of Rosemary (McCarthy), Barbara (Menton) and Pauline (Keogh), mother-in-law of Dermot, Malachy and Michael and adored by her grandchildren Conor McCarthy, Emma, Jack and Cathal Menton, granddaughter-in-law Mary Ryan, and her darling great-granddaughter Olivia Mc Carthy. A former member of Rush Golf Club and past President of Rush Golf Club’s Bridge Club. Sadly missed by her extended family, friends and neighbours.
Mary will repose at (her daughter) Barbara’s home on Thursday, 30th June, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. All are welcome. Funeral Mass to be held on Friday, 1st July, at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mercy Church, Artane, Dublin 5, Eircode D05 FH28, followed by burial in Fingal Cemetery. Family home private. Catherine (Kathleen) Maher (née Fox)
Ballymoreen, Littleton, Thurles, Tipperary / Geashill, Laois
Formerly of Cappalough, Geashill, Co. Offaly. June 29th 2022, peacefully in the tender loving care of Mary O’Connor and all the Staff at Acorn Lodge. Catherine (Kathleen), beloved wife of the late Paddy, mother of the late Padraig and John and grandmother of the late Patrick. Deeply regretted by her sons Tom and Tadhg, daughters-in-law Teresa, Eithne and Rosaleen, grandchildren Darren, David, Jamie, Kaitlyn, Aislinn, Daniel, Rachel, Sophie and Patrice, great-grandchildren Jude and Maddox, brother Pascal, sisters Fran, Betty and Carmel, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Devitt’s Funeral Home this Thursday evening from 5pm with Removal at 7pm to St. Kevin’s Church, Littleton. Requiem Mass on Friday at 11.30am followed by Burial in Ballymoreen Cemetery.

Mary McCormack (neé Bergin), Kilcoran, Rathdowney, Co. Laois. June 29th 2022. Peacefully in the presence of her family at Portlaoise Regional Hospital in her 96th year. Predeceased by her husband Paddy, her sisters Anna and Lil, brothers Jim and Tom, daughter Catherine, son-in-law Michael Fitzpatrick. Sadly missed by her loving family Eileen Fitzpatrick, Breda (Delia) Delaney, Jim, Phil, Pat, Angela Caulfield and Ann Moore, daughters-in-law Trish and Breege, sons-in-law Joe, Niall and Declan, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, her brothers Joe and Pat (Johnstown), nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at her home (Kilcoran R32 C1F2) on Thursday at 6 o’clock with prayers at 8 o’clock. Funeral Mass on Friday at 10 o’clock in the Church of The Holy Trinity, Rathdowney, (parishwebsites.ie/rathdowney) followed by interment in Bealady Cemetery.

Margaret Teehan, Drim, Mountrath, Co. Laois. Died 29th June 2022, (peacefully) in the loving care of staff at Brookhaven Nursing Home Ballyragget, in her 103 year. Sadly missed by her nephews and nieces neighbours, friends and extended family.
Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home, Mountrath this Thursday evening from 7.0’clock with Rosary at 8.0’clock. Removal on Friday morning to St. Edmund’s Church, Castletown, for Requiem Mass at 11.0’clock, followed by Burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery, Mountrath.

John Dowling
Derrydavy, Mountmellick, Laois
The death has occurred of John Dowling, Derrydavy, Mountmellick, Co. Laois. Suddenly, on 27th June. Predeceased by his parents, Michael and Nora, and sister-in-law Collette. Deeply regretted by his sister Mary, brothers Michael, Brendan, Conleth, Kieran, Liam and Francis, sisters-in-law Antoinette, Cecelia, Barbara, Ann and Helen and brother-in-law Steve, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
Reposing at Moloney’s Funeral Home, Mountmellick, on Friday 1st July from 6:00pmwith prayers at 8:00pm. Reposing in Moloney’s Funeral Home on Saturday morning from 10am. Removal at 10.45am to St. Joseph’s Church, Mountmellick, for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Mountmellick.
