A new documentary about the ins and outs of an Irish Christmas is currently recruiting it’s cast.
Anne-Marie Fitzgerald, the documentaries’ Casting Researcher is on the look for everyday Irish people to tell their Christmas story for a Laois filmmaker.
Ken Wardop, originally from Portarlington, owns the company Venom Films which are based out of Dublin.
The Irish Christmas is a thoughtful, objective look at the Christmas holidays and will look to answer where does the heart of Christmas truly lie with the Irish community.
Anne-Marie says “I’m looking for main characters who are on the struggling side of Christmas this year. This can be because Christmas is a trigger or a yearly struggle or because they have something unfolding in their lives that makes it particularly hard this year.
We’re looking for someone the audience can connect with and root for, as Ken’s films are all about Irish charm and humour and getting to the heart of people and subjects.”
Ken Wardrop is well-known filmmaker with a range of documentaries under his belt including boxer Katie Taylor’s Netflix documentary, “Katie” and RTÉ’s “Cocooned”, a documentary about the elderly during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The documentary offers an amazing opportunity for people to tell their Christmas story.
