There was great craic at the weekend as the Laois Le Cheile – Laois Together 2022 – took place.
The event took place on the grounds of Laois Music Centre, on Saturday June 11.
Laois Le Chéile is a Laois Integration Network, Music Generation Laois, Laois Partnership and Creative Ireland Laois collaboration.
Organisers described it as a welcome opportunity to bring music and integration to the heart of Portlaoise – underpinned with the dynamic richness of Laois’s new communities: young people and their families.
Portlaoise is one of the most culturally positive and diverse towns in Ireland with one in five Portlaoise people being non-Irish and 94 nationalities living in Laois speaking 57 languages.
This exciting cultural event was an opportunity to interact with others – creating bridges to trust, respect, and understanding across cultures.
It was supported by the Creative Ireland Programme, Local Live Performance Support Scheme through the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Laois County Council and Conradh na Gaeilge.
Photographer Renata Metelicka was present at the festivities on Saturday.
