Are you looking for something to do – or a new fitness challenge?
With the evenings getting longer and the summer months stretching out in front of us, do you like the idea of hitting the road for a cycle?
Starting from this Wednesday, May 11, Laois Sports Partnership and Laois Cycling Club have teamed up for a Couch to 50km venture – an eight-week organised training block that will culminate with a club event.
“Dust off your old bicycle,” says their promotion poster. “Get summer ready and prepare yourself to cycle the Greenway, Wild Atlantic Way or Blueway”
Offering a supportive training environment, the group will meet at 6.45pm at Race Right Cycles in Kealew Business Park in Portlaoise for a 7pm start.
Helmets must be worn and rules of the road followed. Cycling Ireland insure participants for three rides with Laois Cycling Club, after which participants must pay Cycling Ireland Insurance or cycle at their own risk.
