For the first time since 2019, the Darkness into Light walks take place across the country.
Virtual events were held in 2020 and 2021 due to the Coronavirus pandemic but they return in person this Saturday morning.
Communities across Ireland will gather at about 4am to walk or run as the sun rises. Starting in darkness, the event finishes as the sun is coming up.
The event has long been a fundraiser for Pieta House to “give hope to people impacted by suicide and self harm”.
Though there are no Laois locations listed on the official website, we do know of a number of walks taking place in the county.
In most instances the walk/run will start at 4.15am.

- Emo GAA Club
- Portarlington GAA Club
- The Swan village
