The school year is coming to an end – which generally means exams, awards and graduations.
And it’s been like that forever. Before teenage students can head off into three months summer holidays, without a care in the world, they have the small matter of graduation masses, award nights and exams.
In 2001, with Scoil Chriost Ri in Portlaoise, still in the centre of the town, they gathered at this time of the year for the usual presentations.
Photographer Alf Harvey was there to capture the moment and his photos, 21 years on, will no doubt bring back some happy memories.
