Back in September, four students from Scoil Chriost Ri received astounding results in their Leaving Cert as they got 625 points.
For a school to have one student get maximum points in the Leaving Cert is a big deal – but Scoil Chríost Rí in Portlaoise are celebrating four 625-pointers today.
Sinead Buggy (Timahoe), Katherine Finnegan (Killenard), Kate Westlake (Portlaoise) and Hannah Biju (Portlaoise) all achieved top marks in the Portlaoise school.
This makes it a very proud day for staff, the students in question and their families.
Sinead is unsure where she would like to study at Third Level but the other three girls are hoping to study Sciences in UCD.
They collected their results at the school today as the curtain comes down on their secondary education – and they now move on to third level.
Carleen Egan (Guidance Teacher), June O’Brien (Deputy Principal), Ann Byrne (Year Head) and Helen O’Donnell (Principal) were all on hand to offer their congratulations.
Today’s results are being released about three weeks later than usual, and some higher education institutions have delayed the planned enrolment of first-year students as a result.
