The first ever Martin Bergin Memorial Run was held by Camross Vintage Club back in October.
Mr Bergin, a Camross native and founding member of the club, passed away in May 2019 and the run in his memory was a huge success.
A total of €3,000 was raised on the day with all of that money going to Friends of Tullamore Hospital at the request of Martin’s family.
On Sunday, members of Martin’s family joined with Irish Vintage Engine and Tractor Association and Camross Vintage Club in order to make the presentation.
Kevin Lalor, of Camross Vintage Club, thanked everyone who helped make the occasion such a success.
He said: “The Friends of Tullamore Hospital was the charity chosen by Martin’s family to benefit from the proceeds of the first Martin Bergin memorial run.
“We would like to thank everyone who came on the run and supported us.
“We would also like to thank the generosity of those who could not make the day and sent donations.
“We were taken back by the generosity of Erril vintage who donated €200 and also Campion insurance who donated €500.
“We also made a donation ourselves of the value of the plaques and food as one thing Martin always told us as a club starting off was the brass plaque and a good feed was so important.
“We would as the committee like to say thank you everyone so much and it was a pleasure to have held this run for a man that meant so much to our club and to many other clubs who he helped.”
