The students of a Laois primary school have begun life in their brand new building.
Gaelscoil Thromaire existed in its former guise from from 1901 to 2021 – a total of 120 years.
But after campaigning for years, the finishing touches were put on a new state of the art facility.
The new building is 1km away for their old school year and is a purpose-built building on a parish site beside the community centre and the GAA grounds.
For principal Aine Mhic Aoidh Bhuí, the staff, the 35 students and entire school community – this is a significant occasion.
Aine is principal there for the past three years, having taking over from Liam O’Neill following his retirement in 2018.
Photographer Alf Harvey was in Trumera today for the official opening.
